Hvar Island
Diving on Hvar Island
Diving on Hvar Island is not the main attraction however very much possible. There are as for as I know 2 operators west of town. The diving here is mostly reefs but as always in Croatia, caves and caverns are easily found.

It is possible to dive in Croatia the whole year round however the best times are between July - September due to warmer waters and better visibility.
Why go there?
Diving may not be the main attraction it is certainly worthwhile, even for a few days. The dives are interesting, laid back, and relatively easy. You will also never be bored in the evenings as this is probably one of the most vibrant Islands. Especially at night.
How to get there?
This ferry route to Hvar is currently served by 1 company: Jadrolinija. In the high season, it runs once per day from Vis. In the low season, it runs once per week. The journey time is 55 minutes. Ticket prices for foot passengers are about 30 Kuna to 40 Kuna.

Alternatively, you can book a ferry to Split and from there go to Hvar since the ferry from Vis to Hvar only runs in the high season. It's a bit of a detour but very doable.
