Komodo
Diving in Komodo
The Komodo diving scene is famous for its drift dives, huge schools of fish, healthy coral reefs, and of course: manta ray encounters! Some of the things that make Komodo a popular diving destination is its easy access from Bali and Lombok. You can quite easily book a liveaboard for 3 or 7 days. Are you could Fly to Labuan Bajo, the central hub from which most live aboard depart.
Live Aboard
The town of Labuan Bajo pretty much revolves around Komodo and liveaboards. You will find many operators there, however, you can also book your tour from Bali or Lombok if you prefer.
Komodo Island
Komodo Island is a small island located in the park famous for its Komodo dragons. You can book a day trip or just join a liveaboard and they will usually include a half-day trip to the island.
The relatively short walk (2 hours or so) will include some massive dragons and a beautiful vista at the end overlooking the islands surrounding it.
How to get there?
You can get to Komodo via Bali or Labuan Bajo. The latter is the more obvious choice because most liveaboards depart from here.
You can fly to Labuan Bajo quite easily via Bali and accommodation is widely available since this town is dedicated to Komodo basically. Labuan Bajo will provide all you need so you might want to book a few nights here before and/ or after because there is plenty to do above the water as well.
Go inland for culture and visit the night market to have a delicious meal. And relax at one of the many sunset rooftop bars in town.
