Diving on Vis Island

Diving on Vis Island is a treat. Although a lot of sites are for advanced divers you will be amazed by the sheer collection of wreck dives you can do here. There are also quite a few reef dives you can do, but it's mostly about the wrecks. Airplanes, Boats, Carriers you name it as deep as 90 meters!

The Island

There are 2 main villages on Vis Island, namely "Vis" and "Komiza".

Your ferry will bring you to Vis, a lovely little town with restaurants and hotels, and pretty much opposite the island lies Komiza. Komiza is frequently visited by tourists but there are also quite a few dive centers and shops. The whole town is situated along the harbor.

You can also rent a scooter for a day or two to explore the island. You can easily do a round of the island in 1 day, visiting the most beautiful beaches and scenery, especially Stiniva, A narrow passage between limestone rock into a beach and the ocean.

Why go there?

Vis island is renowned for its wreck diving. This reason only is why it's worth visiting. Diving is challenging (in a good way) and very diverse. From caves, caverns, wrecks, and reefs. You will find everything here.

How to get there?

You can travel to Vis island from Split by catamaran, ferry or speedboat. Jadrolinija operates a year-round daily catamaran and twice-daily ferry from Split to Vis. The catamaran takes one and a half hours whilst the ferry takes two hours and 20 minutes to reach. The Island has 2 major towns and you can hop on a shuttle bus in the harbor which will bring you to the other side of the island to the lovely town of Komiza if you wish.
