Diving Taiwan
Taiwan has five major diving regions with fantastic visibility and varied marine life year-round.
In Kenting, divers can do shore and boat diving. Rare sightings include humpback whales.
Orchid Island is home to some of the best visibility. It is usually more than 30 meters. Dive sites include coral gardens and an impressive Korean tanker wreck.
Green Island is where Shark Point is,
Each spring, large groups of hammerhead sharks pass through here. Xiao Liu Qiu has coral reefs and relaxing wall dives. Spotting turtles is almost guaranteed. Dongjin Island is famous for drift diving.
Green Island
Green Island is a lovely place you can easily traverse with a scooter or car. There are nice hotels, hostels, and even hot springs you can enjoy after diving!
The coasts offer great views and good shore diving!
Good to Know
You can also hop on the ferry from Green Island to Lanyu continuing to Kenting to make a big round trip diving all the best spots!
How to get there?
From Taipei, you can fly to Taitung on the other side of the island. If you are already in the area or if it's on-route you'd best take line 8103 bus from Taitung Hospital to Fugang Ferry Terminal or take a taxi there.
Then take the ferry from Taitung Fugang Fish Harbor to Green Island (1200 NT return trip).
