Nha Trang's underwater world is home to a diverse range of marine life, including colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles, and various invertebrates. It's a great place for both macro and wide-angle photography.

There are multiple worthwhile dive sites to visit:

Hon Mun Marine Protected Area: This is one of the most famous dive sites in Nha Trang. It's a protected area with a variety of marine life and coral reefs. You can explore caves, drop-offs, and vibrant coral gardens.

Hin Mun Con Se Tre: This site is known for its underwater cliffs, caves, and diverse marine species. The visibility is usually good, making it a favorite among divers.

Moray Beach: As the name suggests, this site is home to numerous moray eels. You can also spot lionfish, nudibranchs, and other colorful marine creatures.

Staying in Nha Trang

Nha Trang is quite a big city, popular with many tourists, mostly Russian. Parts of the city have been dedicated and translated to Russian and you will find many resorts along the beachfront.

This also means there are generally lots of places to stay, which makes this one of the more accessible diving locations in Vietnam.


Dive Centers:

Nha Trang has several dive centers that offer a range of courses for beginners and experienced divers. Some popular dive centers include Rainbow Divers, Angel Dive Nha Trang, and Sailing Club Divers. These centers often provide equipment rental, training, and guided dive trips.

Best Time to Dive:


The diving season in Nha Trang is generally from April to October when the weather is more favorable with calm seas and better visibility. However, diving is possible year-round, and some operators continue to offer services during the off-season.



Visibility can vary depending on the time of year, but it's often around 15 to 20 meters. During the peak diving season, visibility can sometimes exceed 30 meters.

How to get there?

By Air:

Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR): The nearest airport to Nha Trang is Cam Ranh International Airport, which is approximately 35 kilometers south of the city. You can fly into Cam Ranh from major cities in Vietnam, as well as from some international destinations. Once you arrive at Cam Ranh Airport, you can take a taxi or shuttle bus to Nha Trang.

By Train:


Nha Trang has a train station that is well-connected to major cities in Vietnam, including Hanoi in the north and Ho Chi Minh City in the south. The train journey offers scenic views of the countryside and coastline. You can check the schedule and book train tickets through the Vietnam Railways website or at the train station.

By Bus:​​


Long-distance buses operate between Nha Trang and various cities in Vietnam. The main bus station in Nha Trang is the Phuong Trang Bus Station. You can check with local bus companies or travel agencies for schedules and tickets.



By Car:


If you prefer to drive, you can hire a car or use a private car service to travel to Nha Trang. The journey may take several hours depending on your starting point. The roads in Vietnam can be busy, so it's essential to be aware of traffic conditions.

By Motorbike:

Some adventurous travelers choose to explore Vietnam on motorbikes. However, this option requires careful consideration of safety and traffic conditions. The journey from other cities to Nha Trang by motorbike can take several days.
